Amazon Studios has just released SEBERG in limited theaters. The film is a thriller based on the true-life events of French new wave actress and “Breathless” star Jean Seberg after being targeted by the FBI. The film is directed by Benedict Andrews, starring Kristen Stewart, Zazie Beetz, Vince Vaughn, and Anthony Mackie. The movie had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August 2020.

Kristen Stewart stars in SEBERG

SEBERG is inspired by true-life events about the French New Wave darling and “Breathless” star, Jean Seberg (Kristen Stewart), who in the late 1960s was targeted by the FBI because of her support of the civil rights movement and romantic involvement with Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie), among others. In Benedict Andrews’ noir-ish thriller, Seberg’s life and career are destroyed by Hoover’s overreaching surveillance and harassment in an effort to suppress and discredit Seberg’s activism.
