L.A. Comic Con is returning to Los Angeles for its 9th year this October 11-13, 2019! In 2018, over 106,000 people attended L.A. Comic Con. Comic Con hosts 800+ diverse artists and vendors, selling comics, collectibles, art, toys, apparel, and everything in-between. There are also some of the biggest and best names in the entertainment industry, many not only in panel discussions but there for meet and greets. 

With 3 days jam-packed with amazing appearances, events, fun exclusives, and cosplay competitions, we’re highlighting some of the events we’re excited about.

Legion M

We are huge fans of Legion M. Legion M is the first media company in history designed to be owned by fans. You can invest as little as $100 to own a piece of the company. Last year Legion M partnered with SpectreVision, Umedia, and XYZ Films to produce one of our favorite films of 2018, Mandy. This year, Legion M has two amazing events in store for fans.

  • You can see Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes on Saturday, October 12th at 2:30 pm PDT for a very special Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Main Stage Panel, followed by a Jay and Silent Bob cosplay photoshoot at the Quick Stop Wall with Kevin and Jason! The photo op will be at Legion M’s Booth #1031
  • Legion M is not only a financier on Jay and Silent Bob Reboot but it’s hooking up LACC attendees with cool Reboot swag! Along with merchandise for sale, anyone who stops by Legion M’s Booth dressed in Jay and Silent Bob cosplay or has proof of purchase to the Fathom Events screening will get a FREE ChronicCon lanyard and badge replica that is worn in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot!(while supplies last) (More LACC details below the photo!)

Memory: The Origins of Alien – Screening NOW at select nationwide theaters and all VOD platforms!

Legion M was the first fan-owned entertainment company to acquire a film out of Sundance when it picked up the fascinating feature-length documentary Memory: The Origins of Alien with its partner Screen Media. Legion M harnessed the power of fandom when its members used the company’s innovative Film SCOUT platform during Sundance, which directly led to Legion M acquiring the documentary. Memory: The Origins of Alien is currently screening at select nationwide theaters and on all VOD platforms!

  • Alien fans will want to stop by Legion M’s Booth #1031 for Memory: The Origins of Alien merchandise, including a super cool “Chestburster” tee: Sketch was drawn by Dan O’Bannon, the screenwriter of Alien, when he was conceiving the classic Chestburster scene. The documentary Memory: The Origins of Alien takes a deep-dive into the making of the scene and the monster inside. 

Elijah Wood

Elijah Wood in the insanely fantastic Come to Daddy

Elijah Wood made have forever made his mark as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, but he also has an amazing production company, SpectreVision. SpectreVision was founded in 2010 by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller, and premiered Bitch at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Other SpectreVision films include the comedy/horror film Cooties, Greasy Strangler, A Girl Walks Home Alone At NightThe BoyToad Road, and LFO among others.

Another reminder to see Come to Daddy

Wood also recently starred in not only our favorite movie at this year’s Beyond Fest but one of our favorite films we’ve seen in a long time, Come to Daddy. Wood along with his partners, Daniel Noah, and Lisa Whalen will be on hand to talk about the state of horror cinema and to offer peeks from their upcoming films Daniel Isn’t Real and Color Out of Space. This will take place Oct. 12th 2:00pm-2:25pm at the main stage. Elijah will be at autograph table 16, signing autographs from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM and 5:15 PM – 6:45 PM.

Mayans M.C.

Easily the coolest television cast out there, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Frankie Loyal, and Michael Irby will be respresenting the Mayans Saturday and Sunday!

Mr. Iglesias

On Friday, Oct. 11th from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM head over to the main stage!  Gabriel Iglesias, Sherri Shepherd, and Jacob Vargas will talk about their multi-camera comedy Mr. Iglesias! Join the cast as they discuss the Netflix series, take questions from the audience & more!
