“We Summon the Darkness” is the new horror-comedy by director Mark Meyers (My Friend Dahmer) and written by Alan Trezza (Burying The Ex). The film packs an all-star cast including Alexandra Daddario, Maddie Hasson, Johnny Knoxville, Logan Miller, Keann Johnson, Amy Forsyth, and Austin Swift. “We Summon the Darkness” takes place during the height of the Satanic Panic in the 80s and follows three best friends, Alexis, Val, and Bev (Alexandra Daddario, Maddie Hasson, Amy Forsyth) on their way to a heavy metal show. They meet three fun-loving metalheads (Logan Miller, Keann Johnson, Austin Swift) at the show and invite them back to party at Alexis’s secluded country home. But the after-party quickly takes a violent turn. Culturally Obsessed and MUSE TV’s Jennifer Ortega recently spoke to screenwriter Alan Trezza and access Maddie Hasson about the film.

On the way to a heavy metal concert, Alexis (Alexandra Daddario) and two girlfriends hear a news report of a local murder believed to be tied to a series of satanic killings. After the show, the girls invite three guys to join them at the estate owned by Alexis’s father, a fire-and-brimstone preacher (Johnny Knoxville). What starts as a party suddenly turns dark and deadly in this devilishly entertaining thriller.
