Every year AFI FEST showcases some of the best films globally to audiences in Los Angeles. AIF Fest is an eight-day film festival that presents screenings, panels, and conversations, featuring both master filmmakers and new voices. This year AFI screened many highly anticipated films from Clint Eastwood’s RICHARD JEWELL to Noah Baumbach’s MARRIAGE STORY.

Jennifer Ortega attended the premiere of Garin Hovannisian’s documentary about the 2018 Armenian revolution, I AM NOT ALONE. I AM NOT ALONE won this year’s Feature Film Audience Award. Jennifer talked to System of a Down’s Serj Tankian (Composer/Producer),  Garin Hovannisian (Director), and Alec Mouhibian (Producer) about this inspiring documentary. 

Synopsis: On Easter 2018, a man puts on a backpack and begins to walk across Armenia. His mission: to inspire a velvet revolution – and topple the corrupt regime that enjoys absolute power in his post-soviet nation. With total access to all key players, I AM NOT ALONE tells the miraculous story of what happens in the next 40 days.
