MUSE TV and Culturally Obsessed attended the red carpet for the 5th award show for Filming Italy Los Angeles. Filming Italy was created and is directed by Tiziana Rocca, Agnus Dei, and Valeria Rumori. The awards were held at Harmony Gold on Jan. 20th, 2020. Filming Italy honored Academy-Award nominated actress Jacki Weaver (SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK), Academy Award Best Movie nominee JOJO RABBIT producer Chelsea Winstanley, award-winning actor Winston Duke (BLACK PANTHER), actress Jessica Marie Garcia (Netflix’ On My Block), and award-winning actress Claudia Gerini (Netflix’ Suburra). Filming Italy awards presenters included award-winning actress Rosario Dawson and actor/model Jason Lewis.
Culturally Obsessed spoke with Billy Baldwin (North Rescue), Jason Lewis (Midnight, Texas), and Chelsea Winstanley (JoJo Rabbit). The 2020 Filming Italy Women’s Power Impact award was given to Steven Gaydos, Executive Vice-President at Variety for his continuous efforts to highlight women’s accomplishments across the Variety platform. “I am very happy that the fifth edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles is dedicated to women, not only in previous and current Italian cinema but to all women who fight daily for their identity with strength and courage. I am particularly proud to collaborate with Women in Film, TV & Media Italia, an important organization supporting women’s rights”, highlights Tiziana Rocca. “Because as a female Artistic Director of festivals, I try to fight for equal rights and support the professional work of many female directors, producers, actors, and screenwriters.
